Prior to most installations a survey is undertaken to determine the appropriate technology to deploy, or assess the suitability of the preferred equipment.
Surveys can be "line of sight", to ensure that the solution will work, or full temporary installations so that the potential performance of the proposed solution can be more accurately determined.
WDSI engineers use state of the art path profiling geographical and radio planning tools to determine the suitability and type of wireless solution. Several items are considered - physical location of equipment, cable runs, power and any required permissions to use buildings or towers. During the site visit WDSI engineers produce a schedule of works including a risk assessment and method statement.
The survey report is then reviewed between the WDSI Telecoms engineer, project manager and account manager before being made available to the client.
