A Wireless Internet Service Provider based in South East Asia

Requirements / Challenge

This client wanted to invest in a wireless broadband offering - a city wide mesh WiFi network providing internet access to consumers. The challenges facing this project were substantial - the network would cover 100 square kilometres, with mixed terrain and topology; it needed to be robust enough to cope with tropical weather extremes; and it needed to be built in three months.

Solution

The client selected WDSI, from a long list of potential suppliers from Europe and the US. In technology demonstrations, WDSI's design proved to be the most robust and cost effective.

WDSI provided a turnkey solution, from radio planning and site acquisition to installation, including custom-built monitoring and control systems.

WDSI networks are designed to automatically maintain a connection, even as nodes appear and disappear - the network self-heals, automatically re-routing traffic to find the final destination
